Serenity Beach, Pondicherry

2026-06-02

Toppling waves under the sun

Fateful which were promised the moon

Warm, dutiful white powder, over a sheet of green

I'm where we were

I'm talking to the bay

it looks the same it did months ago

Footprints in the sand

of stories that were promised eternity

shallow, forgetful sun under the blinds of cloud

I'm sitting where we stood

I'm talking to the silence

It speaks the same it did months ago

The fishermen are equally busy today

the ships dangle the same

the sea murmurs the same

the strangers look the same

I often wonder,

were you there with me that day

Was I with you,

Ever?
